Traffic Issues at JFK Airport

Last Updated : 06/04/2024

This summer, travelers at New York’s JFK International Airport should brace for significant delays and congestion due to a $19 billion renovation project.

The Port Authority advises passengers to allocate extra time, use remote parking lots, and opt for public transportation like the AirTrain and Long Island Rail Road.

More info here.

The construction, expected to last until 2030, coincides with peak travel season, amplifying challenges. Alternatives like LaGuardia for domestic flights or Newark Liberty International for international travel are suggested to alleviate congestion.

Check JFK’s  “See All Travel Impacts” or  “Your Travel Impacts” before you go.
