United announced on 13th that set a new standard of inflight connectivity by signing the industry’s largest agreement of its kind with SpaceX to bring Starlink’s fast, reliable Wi-Fi service to the airline’s mainline and regional aircraft fleet, for free.
United said Starlink will be installed in all of its mainline and regional aircraft—more than 1,000 planes in total—a project it intends to complete over the next several years. Testing begins in early 2025, and the first passenger flights are expected later that year.
Starlink service on United aircraft will be free.
Starlink allows for gate-to-gate internet service and unlocks game-changing inflight entertainment experiences like access to live TV and streaming services, shopping, gaming and more, on seatback screens and personal devices simultaneously

Starlink is a satellite network that provides internet access to remote areas around the world. It’s operated by SpaceX, an American aerospace company, and is the first and largest satellite constellation to use a low Earth orbit for broadband internet.
Some cruise lines are offering Starlink Wi-Fi since 2023.
