New reservation system for Yoshida Trail climbing Mt. Fuji opens on May 20 2024

According to an announcement by the Yamanashi prefecture on May 13, the new system is designed to limit the number of visitors going above the fifth station of the mountain to 4,000 per day.

Climbers can sign up through the new online system up until a day before their climb. After completing payment, they will receive a QR code for them to scan at the entrance of the popular Yoshida trail in Yamanashi Prefecture.

As previously announced, all climbers ascending the mountain via the Yoshida trail will be required to pay a 2,000 yen fee.

Climbers who wish to ascend the mountain between July 1 and Sept. 10 can make reservations online starting at 10 a.m. on May 20.

Yoshida Trail departs from the Fuji-Subaru Line 5th Station and joins the ascending trails of Yoshida Trail Ent. at the 6th Station. This is a trail to head to the summit from the north side of Mt. Fuji on the Yamanashi Prefecture side.
